Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived alongside 12 other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother helped her escape from the harsh realities of everyday life. The songs she wrote were composed before she could write and read. After getting her first instrument at age 8, she started to perform at radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. The same year, Gold Band Records was a small independent record label. The singer established a name on the local circuit while in high school but she always dreamed of having a bigger stage. On the very day she graduated from the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated show on TV at the time, was in search for a female singer for his show. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after contracting in 1969 with RCA Records. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's show due to the commercial success of her solo songs like Joshua Coats of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their relationship with Wagoner she wrote the song"I Will Never Love You and had it reach the top spot at No. 1. for the first time since 1974.
