Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned Liberal news site, is a television personality as well as a writer and charity donor. She was born in Greece and immigrated to England at the age of 16. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. She was the first person of non-UK origin to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. She was a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and when The Huffington Post launched a few years after, she created an online platform for voice that offered criticisms on political scenarios. Arianna was able to attract several notable contributors to post their thoughts on culture and political issues. Arianna gained notoriety during 2003 when she ran as an independent candidate in the recall vote in California in order to take over the position of Governor Davis. Alongside this, she directed the Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. Forbes listed her as the 12th most influential woman on the planet in 2009 and Guardian also included her on the list of Top 100 media at the time. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became president of this media group. This included many AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close relation to her father and mother and father, it was their relationship which shaped her. In her earliest years, she displayed the skills of leadership for which she has become well known. At the age of 16 she started her studies at Cambridge, United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she went on to become the first female president, and also the only foreign president. In 1972, she earned an advanced degree in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic and a television host. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She began writing books, taking his help in editing.
