Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. She was born in Winnipeg and brought up in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11 which made the actress second of the award in Oscar history. In response to a public audition, aged nineteen, she became Flora McGrath - the daughter of a Scottish piano player who was muted in the 19th century. She was able to move in New Zealand to marry an married man who was arranged. As a teenager, she was able to move to the United States. Paquin was cast as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. In addition, she played the title role in Fly Away Home, a movie from the same year. Paquin did a brief appearance in the television movie of 1997 version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad her character was the Spanish queen in a minor part. The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed the polexia Aphrodisa the groupie of Almost Famous (2000).
