
Jessica Michelle Chastain, born on March 24, 1977, is an American actress. Most famous for her roles in films with feminist themes, she has been awarded numerous awards like an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine listed her as one of the top 100 influential people in the world in 2012. Chastain began acting in her early years. In 1998, she made her professional debut on stage in the role of Shakespeare's Juliet. After her studies in acting at the Juilliard School, she was signed to a talent holding deal with the television producer John Wells. She was frequently a guest on several television shows as well as a number of roles in stage productions. After her debut in film at age 31 in the drama Jolene (2008), Chastain became a household name in the year 2011 with six film releases including the dramas Take Shelter (2011) and The Tree of Life (2011). Chastain was also nominated for Academy Award nominations as a part of The Help (2011), where she played a aspiring socialite, as well as Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as a CIA analyst.
